Eighty percent of the population suffers from physical pain due to disorders of posture or body dynamics. Standing and walking in an unbalanced body promotes asymmetrical tension in the muscles and causes joint wear and tear over time.
Medicine has developed so well over the last century that life expectancy has increased dramatically. Living longer is the wish of all of us, but of course we want to live longer in a good physical condition.
Science has proven that physical activity improves the cardiovascular system and general immunity. The practice of physical activities such as walking and running has exploded as never before. However, they cause joint and muscle traumas in people with biomechanical deficiencies, i.e. 4 out of 5 people suffering from pain on a daily basis. On the other hand, most medical treatments are insufficient because they act symptomatically.
Through this observation, we aim to gain a better understanding of the functioning of the body as a whole. Our orthokinesic assessment, also called ‘OPS postural assessment’, has the relevance of coupling static and dynamic biomechanical analyses of the whole body in order to detect the disturbing causes which are responsible of maintaining pain.
Our health systems are designed to offer treatment when pain appears. But, unfortunately, it is often too late then! We are convinced that we must focus on the source by carrying out preventive biomechanical assessments.
From the age of 4 years, it is possible to detect mechanical disturbances whatever their origin: genetics, bad footwear... and thus avoid suffering in adulthood. At OPS Clinic, we want to change mentalities and relieve people of avoidable physical suffering.
